Ayo Oyedokun - CEO, SPRITE Multipurpose Cooperative Society LimitedIt gives me great pleasure to highlight to you the progress SPRITE Multipurpose Co-operative Society has made in the past one year and also the impact we expect to make in the market.

As expected in business, our industry faced a number of risks within the period under review. The operating environment was particularly challenging, a situation made worse by the slow global economic recovery. Many Co-operative Society and Microfinance bank (MFB) folded up or went into liquidation due to the economic environment. Despite all odds our member ship grew from 40 members as at September 2009 to 120 as at July 2010 a growth of over 300%, we have also remained progressive and focused the staff remains dedicated the board support and united by a vision to excel and win together.

Our core capital base is about N10million with total contribution base of over N20million and we have granted various loans to over 38 members valued at about N18million at various times. We have a less than 10% default rate in our loans.

•    Ordinary members: Minimum shares subscription of 100,000 units of N1 share @ N1.00 per share
•    Preferential members: Minimum shares subscription of 1,000,000 units of N1 share @ N1.00 per share.
It is shareholding members that have the participatory voting rights at Annual General Meetings, enjoy dividends, bonuses, surpluses, advisory board elections or other appointment.
